Laura H. Yow age 86 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at Wheatland Hills in Hillsville, Virginia.
Mrs. Yow was born on July 25, 1926 in Forsyth County, North Carolina to Henry Lake and Lena Money Hastings In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph A. Yow, Jr..
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Diane and Randy Reeves of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; Tina and Mike Wilcox of Woodlawn, Virignia; son and daughter-in-law Robert and Dolores Yow of Galax, Virginia; grandchildren Shannon Richey; Andrea Khan and Brittany Yow; six great-grandchildren; brother Tom Hastings of Kernersville, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Friday at 4:00 PM in the Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church with Rev. John Grimm and Rev. Kevin Campbell officiating. Burial will be on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The family will receive friends Friday from 3:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the church.
