Laura Mae Heninger Dickson age 91 of Galax, Va. passed away Wednesday, September 3,2008 at Waddell Nursing Home. Mrs. Dickson was born on August 4,1917 in Saltville, Va. to John Bell & Mary Rose Heninger. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Dickson; a son Joseph (Bud) Dickson, Jr.; one great-grandchild; two sisters and four brothers. She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law Carol & Bob Williams of Independence, Va.; son & daughter-in-law Sam & Rachel Dickson of Galax, Va.; grandchildren & spouses Resa & Steve Nichols; Tim & Melissa Williams; Karen & Chris Porter; Rhonda & Allen Conner; Kristin & Larry Brown; Joey & Misty Dickson; thirteen great-grandchildren; brother & sister-in-law W.O. & Bernice Heninger of Norfolk, Va.; several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Friday, September 5, 2008 at 8:00 pm in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Cas Horton & Bud Moore officiating. Burial will be held Saturday, September 6, 2008 at 11:00 am in Fairlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from six until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
