Lanthel Funk Taylor, 96, of Galax passed away Monday, June 29, 2015 at the Waddell Nursing Home and Rehab in Galax, Virginia. Mrs. Taylor was born August 26, 1918 in Elk Creek, Virginia to the late George Carl Funk and Lennie Martin Funk. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lonzo Taylor, loving daughter-in-law Gaye Roberts Taylor; four sisters and two brothers.

Mrs. Taylor is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law: Don Taylor of Mount Airy, North Carolina; Fleet and Lori Taylor of East Bend, North Carolina; two grandsons: Don Taylor, Jr. of Mount Airy, North Carolina; Alan Taylor of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; great grandson Tyler Taylor of Mount Airy, North Carolina; special sister Bettye Osborne of Palm City, Florida and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service and burial will be held Thursday, July 2, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Gladeville United Methodist Church Cemetery, 103 Cranberry Road, Galax, Virginia with Rev. Richard Gregory officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
