Kyle Allen Compton, age 85, of Galax, VA, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013 at his home.
Mr. Compton was born July 19, 1927 in Richlands, VA to Elden Walter and Pearl Etta Profitt Compton.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Hale Compton of the home; daughters & sons-in-law, Kyleene & Larry Hill, Charlotte, NC, Barbara Dillman of the home, Cindy & John Vavro, Cary, NC; son & daughter-in-law, Danny & Nancy Compton, Mouth of Wilson, VA; grandchildren, Jenifer Dillman Funk, Johnathan Kyle Dillman, Jody Hill, Kaitlyn Compton, Kassidy Compton; great-grandchildren, Anastasia Funk and Abigail Funk.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013 in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel, Galax, VA at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Felts Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Monday, Feb. 11, 2013 at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
Officiating ministers will be the Rev. Barry Miller and the Rev. Wendell Horton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Galax Gideon Camp, P O Box 614, Galax, VA 24333
