Klyce Sayers

Rebecca Klyce Hampton Sayers, known as Klyce Sayers, passed away Thursday April 23, 2026 after a long, brave, and courageous battle with cancer. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who lived a quiet life devoted to her family.

Klyce was born in North Carolina on June 30, 1954 to James Hampton and Emma Thornton Hampton Neal.

She is survived by her husband, Frank Sayers of the home; sons and daughters-in-law Jarrett and Keri Hodges; Chris and Dana Sayers all of Galax, Virginia. She also leaves behind four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Klyce is also survived by her brothers and sister-in-law Jim and Tracy Hampton of Austinville, Virginia; Steve Shaw of Ashland, Virginia; her sisters and brothers-in-law Amy and David Parsons; Rebecca and Curtis Thomas all of Grayson County, Virgina; special aunt and uncle, Dan and Doris Jean Thornton of Independence, Virginia; special cousin Kippy Anderson; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM in the Bishops Chapel Church Cemetery with Jimbo Hampton officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully request donations be made to either Mountain Valley Hospice or the Bishops Chapel Church Cemetery. The family also request no food please.

The family wishes to thank Mountain Valley Hospice for their care of Kylce.

Klyce will be remembered for her kind heart, quiet strength, and the love she had for her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
