David Kevin Burnette, better known as Kevin, age 60, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2018 at Forsyth Memorial Hospital, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Kevin was born October 5, 1957 in Galax, Virginia to the late Harold Burnette and Janie Thompson Burnette Blevins. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by grandparents Verlin and Esther Thompson and uncles Richard "Dicky" Thompson and Larry Thompson.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by sister and brother-in-law Tina and Ray Cummings; brothers and sister-in-law: Keith Burnette; Kenny and Anna Burnette all of Galax; aunts and uncles Clayton and Diane Payne; Barbara Thompson; Tony and Karen Thompson; Rhonda Baumgardner; and Paulette Thompson. Also surviving are special nephew Adam Burnette; nieces and nephews Abby Burnette; Abrianna Burnette; Krissy Snyder, Kelly Hamm, Kurtis  Thomas; Cortney BurnettE, Garrett Burnette and Kayla Cornett; great nieces and nephews: Kensley King, Kye King, Noah Moss, Aiden Snyder and Maddie Snyder.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 3:00 PM in the Camp Zion Church with Pastor Rodney Christman officiating. Interment will follow in the Camp Zion Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until service time at the church.
