Kenneth Gilbert Walker age 95 of Galax, Virginia passed away Sunday, January 28, 2019 in the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina.
Mr. Walker was born in Carroll County, Virginia on May 24,1922 to Roby Leviston and Clyde Jennings Walker. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Adie Marie Newman Walker.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Dr. Gary K. and Dr. Anna N. Walker of Macon, Georgia; grandchildren and spouses Erik N. and Stephanie Walker of Wichita, Kansas; Peter C. and Tyler Walker if Atlanta, Georgia; Suzanne and Mathew Birch of Windermere, Florida; great-granddaughter Kaitlynn Quin Walker; niece and husband Judy and Mike Gentile of Hillsboro, North Carolina; nephew and wife David and Linda Walker of Durham, North Carolina.
The funeral service will be held Friday, February 2, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Galax Presbyterian Church with Dr. Thomas Whartenby officiating. Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from six until eight at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to either the Galax Presbyterian Church , P.O. Box 2 Galax, Virginia 24333 or to St. Judes Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
