Kenneth William Mayes, Sr. age 82 of Accokeek, Maryland passed away Monday, November 18, 2019 in the Collingswood Health Nursing and Rehab Center.

Mr. Mayes was born in Carroll County, Virginia on April 5, 1937 to Hensel William and Callie Lena Felts Mays. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Roger Lee Mays, Ronald Mays, Ina Shupe, Violet King and Brenda Robke.

He proudly served his country in the US Air Force for 34 years.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn A. Mayes of Accokeek, Maryland; children and their spouses Patricia Mayes of Jacksonville, Florida; Teresa and Bobby Vaughan of Fairfield, Pennsylvania; Lynne McDaniel of Accokeek, Maryland; Kenneth and Selena Mayes II of Christiansburg, Virginia; sisters and brother-in-law Dora Conley; Lula and Wayne Jones all of Mocksville, North Carolina; Buddy and Luann Mays of Kingsland, GA; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; along with nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with the Rev. Richard Gregory officiating. Burial will follow in the Fries Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
