Kenneth Ralph Brooms age 70 of Fries, Virginia passed away Thursday, July 17, 2025 in the Commonwealth Senior Living in Hillsville, Virginia.

Kenneth was born in Robbinsville, North Carolina on December 17, 1954 to Ottis Ray and Pauline Parks Brooms. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother William "June Bug" Brooms; sister Betty Price and brother-in-law Denny Slate.

In addition to his mother, Pauline Parks Brooms of Independence, Virginia he is survived by his son Shawn Brooms of Galax, Virginia; brother and sister-in-law Denny and Cindy Brooms of Fries, Virginia; sister Lily Slate of Woodlawn, Virginia; brother-in-law Roger Price of Fries, Virginia; several nieces and nephews; special friend Mary Ellen Rhudy.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 11:30 AM in the Monta Vista Cemetery with Pastor Ricky Alexander officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
