Kenly Grady Stoneman, Jr. better known as K.G. Stoneman age 81 of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away Friday, November 25, 2016 in the Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Stoneman was born on April 13, 1935 in Carroll County, Virginia to Kenly Grady and Euna Lee Ryder Stoneman. He was preceded in death by his parents Kenly Grady Stoneman and Euna Lee Ryder Stoneman Fochtman; an infant son James Lee Stoneman and a half-brother James Stoneman.
He proudly served his country in the US Army and was stationed in Germany for two years.
He is survived by his wife Parthenia Smith Stoneman of Woodlawn, Virginia; half-sisters Peggy Burcham and Paula Burcham both of Galax, Virginia; half-brother and spouse Jerry and Dorothy Stoneman of Galax, Virginia; several cousins and special friends.
The funeral service will be held Thursday at 2:00 PM in the Woodlawn United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dina Clower and the Rev. Gloria Lancaster Rhudy officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery with Military Rites by the Hillsville VFW Post 1115. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:30 PM until time for the funeral service at the Woodlawn United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Woodlawn United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 75 Woodlawn, Virginia 24381; the Woodlawn Cemetery Fund or to the charity of donor 's choice.
