Kathy Willis Wood age 54 of Galax, Va. passed away Thursday, September 27, 2007 at her home. Kathy was born on March 11, 1953 in North Carolina to John Webster & Margaret Nelson Willis. In additon to her mother Margaret Rodecker of Beaufort, N.C. she is survived by her husband Larry Wood of Galax, Va.; son Brandon Edward Lewis of Straits, N.C.; step-son & wife Chuck & Debbie Lane of Selma, N.C.; brothers Kieth Willis, Kevin Willis and Kyle Willis all of Beaufort, N.C.; Kerry Willis of Camarillo, California; one grandson; one step-granddaughter; several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Sunday, Septpember 30, 2007 at 2:00 PM at Oakland United Methodist Church with Rev. John Ousley and Gary Boyette officiating. Burial will follow in the Wood Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from seven until nine at Oakland United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Twin County Hospice.
