Kathleen "Kate" Leonard age 87 of Galax, Va. passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2006 in New River Valley Medical Center.She was born February 23, 1919 in Carroll County, Va. to the late Arthur and Stella Nail Fayne. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter Bonnie Lyons; grandson, Blaine Lyons; three sons-in-law; sister Thelma Blevins and a brother, Dixie Fayne. She is survived by her husband Luther "Luke" Leonard; son Doug Leonard; daughters, Wanda Ayers and Louise Bobbitt all of Galax, Va.; sisters and brother-in-law, Blanche & John Andrews of Warrenton, N.C.; Mildred Frost of Galax, Va.; brother and sister-in-law, Gene & Wilda Ann Fayne of Galax, Va.; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews also survive.The funeral service will be held Saturday, September 30th at 2:00PM in Blue Ridge Chapel Church with Rev. David Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from seven until nine at Blue Ridge Chapel Church.
