Kathleen R. Barker's Obituary
Kathleen Robinson Barker, 59, of Galax, Virginia passed away at her home, Saturday, April 9, 2011.
Mrs. Barker was born Dec. 23, 1951 in Galax, Virginia to Elmer Brooks and Mayme Lineberry Robinson.
She was employed by the Carroll County School system for thirty six years and is survived by her husband, Donnie M. Barker, Galax; son & daughter-in-law, Wesley & Rebecca Barker and son, Will Barker and fiance, Laken Rutherford, all of Galax, VA; father-in-law, Merle Barker, Galax; brother & sister in-law, Benny & Diane Robinson, Galax; brother-in-law, David Barker, Galax; sister-in-law, Sharon Barker, Galax; special friends, Harold & Linda Cox; two nephews & two nieces, many friends and cousins and many church family members, also, survive.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Blue Ridge Chapel with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM Monday at the church. The Rev. David Moore and the Rev. Sam Holder will be the officiating ministers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Blue Ridge Chapel Building Fund.
