Katherine Martin Parks' Obituary
Katherine Martin Parks, age 88, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014 at the Waddell Nursing Home, Galax, VA.
Mrs. Parks was born in Mt. airy, NC Feb. 13, 1926 to Luther and Lucille Parker Martin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Graham Parks.
She is survived by her sons & daughters-in-law, Marty & Cathy Parks, Galax, VA, John & Robin Parks, Ithaca, NY; daughter & son-in-law, Kathy & Doug Bryant, Galax, VA, brother & sister-in-law, Howard & Ruth Martin, Kernersville, NC; special caregiver & friend, Gina Horton, Galax, VA; eight grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014 at 12:00 Noon at the First Baptist Church, Galax. Burial will follow in the Felts Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until time for the funeral service, Tuesday. Pastor Sam Bartlett will be the officiating minister.
