Katherine Cox Johnson age 89 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, September 26, 2013 at the home.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Carroll County, Virginia on March 3, 1924 to Sidney Rufus and Carrie Edwards Cox. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Carroll Johnson.
She is survived by a sister Clyde Baker of Galax, Virginia; brother and sister-in-law Alfred Sid and Thelma Cox of Galax, Virginia; special nieces Rita Barker and Glenda Gill; several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Saturday September 28, 2013 At 2:00 pm in the Oakland Cemetery with Rev. Tim Smith officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
