Katherine Sue Hawks, 72, of Fries passed away Friday at her home. Sue was born March 26, 1938 in Wythe County, Virginia to Walter Keith & Vergie Sawyers Keith.

She is survived by a daughter Sarah H. Crigger of Elk Creek; five grandchildren Michelle Leonard, Brittney Leonard, Holly Crigger, Portia Shaffer, and Laura Crigger; one sister Dorothy Guynn of Fries and one brother George Keith of Ennice, North Carolina; 6 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her daughter Martha Leonard, her special friend Roberta Mabe and seven siblings.

The family will receive friends Saturday, April 3, 2010 from 6PM until 8 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Monday, April 5, 2010 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Bill Shupe officiating. Interment will follow in the Fries Cemetery.
