Katherine Darnell Sapp known as Darnell Sapp age 78 of Fries, Virginia passed away Friday December 16, 2022 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.

Darnell was born in Carroll County, Virginia on March 9, 1944 to Edgar Elmer and Florine Katherine King Davis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers Wayne Davis and Ronald Davis.

She is survived by her husband Robert Sapp; daughters and sons-in-law Teresa and Rickey Fulton; Tracy and Jimmie Underwood; son and daughter-in-law Ronnie and Karen Taylor all of Fries Virginia; step-children Robert Sapp, Jr. of Lafayette, Tennessee; Michelle Lewis of Independence, Virginia;  sisters and brothers-in-law Joan Lowe of Thomasville, North Carolina; Carolyn Lawson of Belews Creek, North Carolina; Patricia Sheets of Kernersville, North Carolina; brothers and sisters-in-law Barry and Maggie Davis  of Madison, Iowa; Gary and Thi Davis of Charlottesville, Virginia;  grandchildren and spouses Chad and India Taylor; April and Ian MacInnis; Mandi and Kris Funk; Garrett and Jessica Vaughan; Zack and Kate Vaughan; Shelley and Chris Anders; James Underwood; Jacey Underwood; Katy Sapp; Eli and Monica Sapp; Breanna Lewis; Angelica Harmon; Faith Lewis; Hope Lewis; Noah Sapp; Ethan Sapp;  Misha Fulton; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A private Celebration of Life Service will be held for the family. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requested donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital,  502  St. Jude Place, Memphis Tennessee 38105.
