Kasena Lee Gunter Sutherland age 66 of Fries, Virginia passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at her home.

Kasena was born on November 21, 1948 in Grayson County, Virginia to Harvey and Mary Lambert Gunter. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Priscilla Lambeth and four brothers Wilmer Gunter, Randall Gunter, Bobby Gunter and Dillard Gunter.

She is survived by her husband Wayne Sutherland of Fries, Virginia; sons and daughters-in -law Jimmy and Yulanda Carico; Tim and Tracy Carico all of Fries, Virginia; Shawn Carico of Charleston, West Virginia; Aaron Sutherland of Fries, Virginia; sister and brother-in-law Teresa and Roger Burnett of Galax, Virginia; sister-in-law Jo Ann Gunter of Fries, Virginia; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Monday, August 3, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Locust Grove Church of Christ with Craig Embree and Tom Sutherland officiating. Burial will follow in the Fries Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Locust Grove Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Fries Cemetery, P.O. Box 974 Fries, Virginia 24330.
