Junior Coy (J.C.) Bowers age 66 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at his home.
J.C. was born in Carroll County, Virginia on September 9, 1948 to Coy P. and Ida Beatrice Sizemore Bowers. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Harris Bowers.
He is survived by his mother Ida Bowers of Galax, Virginia; children and their spouses Ronnie and Tina Bowers of Galax, Virginia; Shelia and Johnny Bishop of Wytheville, Virginia; Tammy and Jay Marlow of Hickory, North Carolina; sisters and brothers-in-law Shirley and Carroll Sumner; Joyce and John McKenzie; brothers and sisters-in-law Harry and Janice Bowers; Dallas and Bonnie Bowers; Larry Bowers all of Galax, Virginia; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Friday, June 26, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Stegall-Pruitt-Harris Family Cemetery in Axton, Virginia with Joyce McKenzie and Sue Sayers officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from six until eight at the Calvary Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family.
