June C. Smith, age 61, of Galax, VA, died Friday, Jan. 14, 2011 in the Forsyth Medical Center, Winston Salem, NC.
Mrs. Smith was born May 26, 1949 in Galax, VA to James Carroll and Dee Brinkley Gillespie.
She is survived by her husband, Scottie Smith of the home; daughters & son-in-law, Jill & Shannon Akers, Elliston, VA, Amanda Crouse, West Palm Beach, FL; grandchildren, Daniel Price, Cameron Smith, Colt Davis, Catherine Davis, Nick Akers, Tori Akers; sisters & brothers-in-law, Judy & Jerry Fender, Woodlawn, VA, Jan & Mark Vass, Hillsville, VA, Gina & Ricky Largen, Woodlawn, VA; brother & sister-in-law, Gene & Vickie Gillespie, Rural Retreat, VA; special niece, Jessica Bryant, Galax, VA; special babies, Allen Rosenbaum, Hannah Vass, Dub Edwards, Dylan & Dalton Edwards, Tina Bullins, Taylor Bryant and Halle Bryant; several nieces & nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011 in the Galax Country Club, Galax, VA, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the family.
