June Gardner Nichols

June Gardner Nichols, age 89, formerly of Woodlawn, VA, passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2021.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Posey Lee Nichols, her parents, Floyd and Pierce
Smith Gardner, and her brother, Kenneth Gardner.

Mrs. Nichols was a native of Woodlawn and had lived for the past three years with her daughter and
caregiver Patsy Morrison. She was a graduate of Radford University and was a retired teacher at
Woodlawn Elementary School. She was a longstanding member of Woodlawn United Methodist Church
and was a member of the choir.

She is survived by daughters and son-in-law, Pennie & Robert Anderson of Roanoke, Patsy Nichols
Morrison of Roanoke, son and daughter-in-law, Stephen Lee & Resa Nichols of Abingdon; a sister-in-law,
Geneva Nichols of Galax; grandchildren and spouses, Donovan & Shannan Duff of Bristol, VA, Lauren &
Steven Morrison of King, NC, and Eli & Rhonda Nichols of Abingdon, VA; seven great-grandchildren,
nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside services for Mrs. Nichols will be held on Friday, December 3, at 1 pm. Family members will
greet friends at the Woodlawn Cemetery one-half hour before the service. Rev. Terry Gregory will
officiate the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Woodlawn United Methodist Church or
the Woodlawn United Methodist Choir, P O 75, Woodlawn, VA 24381.
