June Charlie Byrd age 83 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at his home. He was born in Grayson County, Va. on July 28, 1922 to the late Charlie and Cora Bell Martin Byrd. In addition to his parents Mr. Byrd was preceded in death by a son Roger Byrd. Survivors include his wife Mary Sue Miller Byrd of Galax, Va.; two sons & daughters-in-law, Clayton & Donna Byrd of Galax, Va; Larry & Caroline Byrd of Woodlawn, Va.; six grandchildren; & eight great-grandchildren also survive. The funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM in Oakland United Methodist Church with Guy Russell officiating. Burial will follw in Snow Hill Cemetery.
