Judith Parrish Hennis, 79 years old of Galax, Virginia went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday October 24, 2024.

She was surrounded by family and friends when she left this Earth.

Judith was born in North Carolina on March 18, 1945 to Walter Carmel and Virginia Wilson Parrish. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Jerry Charles Parrish.

For several years she taught children at preschool and Sunday School.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Chris and Lorie Hennis of Galax, Virginia; her daughter Ann Smith of Mt Airy, North Carolina She is also survived by her sister Patty Byrd of Galax; grandchildren that she loved dearly are Michael Smith, Andrew, Faith, Kenzi and Trinity Hennis. She also has several nephews and nieces, several dear friends, Lib Russell, Tracy McMickle and Linda Mitchell.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday at 7:00 PM at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Ken Hemphill and the Rev. Sam Bartlett officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 PM until time for the service at the First Baptist Church. Per Judith's request her body was donated to the Anatomy Gifts Registry-A Program of Anatomic Gift Foundation, Inc.
