Obituary

Joye was preceded in death by her parents, Conley and Linnie Jennings Lineberry, husband Clayton R. Flanagan, son Donald Flanagan, and brother Cecil Lineberry.

Joye Flanagan is survived by son Michael Flanagan of Destin, FL., daughter Nancy Pierce of Lewisville, NC, sister Connie Burnsed of Woodlawn, VA and four Grandchildren and Five Great Grandchildren.

Joye was a Teacher's Aid at Woodlawn School for many years. Joye was a member of Mt Zion Primitive Baptist Church, a life member of Laurel Rescue Squad, and a member of Farm Bureau Women's Committee. Joye loved nature and working with flowers. Mrs. Flanagan liked to help others and crocheted numerous prayer shawls for hospice people.

Viewing will be held at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home in Galax on Thursday September 7th from 6-8 PM. Funeral Services to held at MT Zion Church on Friday at 2 PM followed burial at Monta Vista Memorial Gardens.

Joye requested donations to Mt Zion Primitive Baptist Church in lieu of flowers.
