Joyce E. Sikes age 77 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at her home.

Mrs. Sikes was born in Grayson County, Virginia on June 1, 1941 to Ralph G. and Alberta Anders Edwards. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Willard Edwards and a niece Jenny Lundy.

She is survived by her husband Bobby Sikes of Galax, Virginia; sons and daughters-in-law Randy and Dede Sikes of Galax, Virginia; Chad and Tracy Sikes of Woodlawn, Virginia; sisters and brothers-in-law Shelvy and Roger Edwards; Judy Lundy all of Galax, Virginia; Betty Jo and Harold McCraw; Lois Harmon all of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; sister-in-law Nancy Edwards of Elk Creek, Virginia; four grandsons; three great –grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Thursday at 3:00 PM in the Mt. Vale United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Payne and the Rev. Ronnie Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Vale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Mt. Vale United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully request donations be made to the Mt. Vale United Methodist Women.
