Joyce Crouse
Liddle
February 4, 1941 – October 24, 2025
Joyce Gerlene Crouse Liddle "Bahgah" went to be with the Lord on October 24, 2025. She was 84 years old. Joyce was born February 4, 1941 to Eugene and Gladys Crouse. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul P Liddle, Jr, son Steve Liddle, and sister Janice Felts. She is survived by her daughters Kim (David) Stamper and Amy Liddle (Tony Denton), brothers Randy (Claire) Crouse and Tony Crouse, grandchildren JoBeth (Daniel) Dupree and Travis (Kelsey) Cummings, great-grandchildren Zayne, Zoie, Myla Jo, and Kira, and special friend Charlotte Dalton Gillespie.
Joyce was the matriarch of her family, maintaining a warm and welcoming home that was the gathering point for friends and family alike. She loved her annual Holden Beach trips with the whole family and made a feast every Thanksgiving and Christmas. Joyce was always willing to make time to sit and talk with a loved one. Her quick wit, strong sense of intuition, and occasional dose of dry humor made her a trusted source of advice for those who knew her.
Joyce provided childcare and helped to raise countless children. It's reported that her trademark phrase, "this is not a gymnasium" still rings in their ears. Her guidance, fairness, and desire to help others impacted many throughout her life. She was an advocate, advisor, and fan to her children, grandchildren, and kids under her care. Her steadfast support will forever be remembered. We will all strive to apply the lessons she taught… so be it.
Special thanks to the Main Floor Staff of Waddell Nursing Home and Medi Hospice Care.
