Joy Lynn Pinyan Dickerson age 45 of Galax, Virginia passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at her home.
Joy was born on August 1, 1965 in Savannah, Georgia to Daniel W. Pinyan, Sr. and Patricia Ann Hubbard Pinyan.
In addition to her parents of Garden City, Georgia she is survived by her husband Alan Dickerson of Galax, Va.; sisters Michelle Whitaker of Garden City, Georgia; Jodie Lockwood of Claymont, Delaware; brother Daniel W. Pinyan, Jr. of Savannah, Georgia; mother-in-law Carol Dickerson of Galax, Va.; sister-in-law Caroline D. Hurst formerly of Galax, Va.; brother-in-law William B. Dickerson of Galax, Va.; four nieces; two nephews; several aunts and uncles.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from six until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. The body will then be taken to Savannah, Georgia for service and burial. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the American Cancer Society, Relay For Life C/O Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home 201 West Center Street Galax, Va. 24333.
