Josie Ward Rippey, 88 of High Point, North Carolina formerly of Galax, Virginia, passed away on May 19, 2015 at the Meridian Care Center in High Point. She was born in Carroll County Virginia on August 6, 1926 to Purley and Stella Ward. On October 8, 1945, Josie married Harlie Rippey who passed away in December 1993. She was also preceded in death by 5 brother s and 4 sisters. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law Carolyn and David Lundy of High Point, North Carolina; grandson and wife Kevin and Stacey Lundy of Durham, North Carolina, several nieces and nephews and their families.

Josie was a member of Oakland United Methodist Church, Galax, Virginia.

The funeral service will be held Friday, May 22, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Mt Olivet United Methodist Church, 6926 Carrollton Pike, Galax, VA with Rev. Billy Rintz officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery, 4987 Pipers Gap Road, Galax, VA. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 PM until time for the service.
