Josie Ellen Leonard's Obituary
Josie Ellen Leonard, 99, of Galax passed away Friday, February 18, 2011 at Golden Living Center, Galax, VA. Mrs. Leonard was born September 17, 1911 in Virginia to Everett (Eb) and Bessie Reese Beckner.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Thomas C. Leonard, four sisters and three brothers.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law: Robert J. "Joe" Leonard and Geneva Webb of Galax; one grandson, Greg Leonard, Holden Beach, North Carolina; two great grandchildren Jason Leonard of China and
Thomas Leonard of Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
The family will receive friends Sunday, February 20, 2011 from 6 until 8 PM at Vaughan-Guynn. The funeral service will be held Monday, February 21, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Marvin Williams and Rev. Bob Adams officiating. Interment will follow in the McKenzie Cemetery.
