Josie Manuel Criner age 95 of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away Friday, March 1,2019 at the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina.

Mrs. Criner was born in Galax, Virginia on August 16, 1923 to Roby and Vada Grimes Manuel. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Clyde J. Criner, son Larry Criner, sister Ethel Bryant and brothers John, Herman and Gene Manuel.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Beverly and Rex Marshall of Woodlawn, Virginia; daughter-in-law Lynn Criner of Cheverly, Maryland ; grandsons Kevin Marshall (Tonia Hall); Dustin Marshall (Greta Conley); Jacob Criner; great-grandsons Chase Marshall and Austin Marshall; several nieces and nephews; and many special friends.

The funeral service will be held Monday, March 4, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the Fairview Baptist church with Pastor Sam Holder officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 12 noon until time for the funeral service at the Fairview Baptist Church. Flowers will be appreciated or donations may be made to the Woltz Hospice Home.
