Josephine White Brown age 79 of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away Sunday, April 10, 2011 at her home.

Mrs. Brown was born in Wythe County, Virginia on August 25, 1931 to Ellis and Edna Gilliam White. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Wayne Brown; daughter Sherry Lea Jennings; sisters Bernice Brown; Magnole Crockett and Mary Jane Bragg; brother James W. White.

She is survived by her daughter Donna B. Martinez of Woodlawn, Virginia; son Wayne Brown, Jr. of Woodlawn, Virginia; grandchildren and spouses Courtland Elias Jennings; Alea M. Brown; Ulysses L. Cox III & Leticia R. Andrews; Stephen S. Brown; Justin D. Brown & Courtney; Wayne W. Brown, III; great-grandchildren Dakir Jennings; Jaden Eli Brown and Jordan Daniel Brown; sisters Edna V. Cox; Mary Alice White; Dorothy J. White; Alma N. White; Velma A. White; Gwendolyn White all of Ivanhoe, Virginia; Martha M. Murrell of Sugar Grove, Virginia; brother Alfred O. White of Ashtabula, Ohio; sisters-in-law Marie M. White of Ashtabula, Ohio; Inez Brown and Myrtle Brook both of Woodlawn, Virignia; Anna L. Ladson of Washington, DC; Mary R. Phipps of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; Wilma L. Brown of Roanoke, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Friday, April 15, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Sister Faye Snow officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethany Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:00 o'clock until service time at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
