Joseph Alexander Weddle age 86 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, February 7, 2019 in the Galax Health and Rehab Center.

Mr. Weddle was born on June 10, 1932 in Fancy Gap, Virginia to Keller and Gypsy Utt Weddle. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by siblings Lucille Brady, Nan Brady, Rush Weddle and Charles Weddle.

He is survived by his wife Alta Weddle of Galax, Virginia; daughters and son-in-law Cathy Minor of Mocksville, North Carolina; Lorna and Weldon Utt of Fancy Gap, Virginia; sons and daughters-in-law Joseph P. and Sharon Weddle; Charles and Linda Weddle all of Galax, Virginia; Bob Weddle of Woodlawn, Virginia; Michael Weddle of Chester, Virginia; Scott and Tina Weddle of Max Meadows, Virginia; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Friday at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with the Rev. Richard Gregory officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
