Joseph Denny McCraw, age 89, of Galax, Virginia passed away Sunday January 4, 2026 in the Galax Health and Rehab Center.

Mr. McCraw was born on June 15, 1936 in Carroll County, Virginia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Ruby Jennings McCraw.

He is survived by his wife Marsha Catron McCraw; daughter and son-in-law Darlene and Dale Isom, all of Galax, Virginia; sister Doris Murray of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; one grandchild Shannon (Jerry) Swain; two great-grandchildren Brittany Sumner (Sam) and Katelyn Simone (Logan); three great-great-grandchildren Stetson Sumner, Vander Simone, and Daizy Simone; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Jackie Poe officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. The family respectfully request no visits or food at the home.
