Fred Kegley age 82 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, July 23, 2009 at his home.
Mr. Kegley was born in Grayson County, Va. on May 10, 1927 to Charlie & Claudia Higgins Kegley.
He is survived by his wife Ethel Kegley; daughters & son-in-law Judy & (the late) Gary Plant; Janice & Gary Lineberry all of Galax, Va.; sister Nannie Rose Jones of Galax, Va.; brothers Lee Kegley of Mt. Airy, N.C.; Earl Kegley of Florida; Kyle Kegley of Galax, Va.; grandchildren & spouses Tammy & Hobert Bailey; Jon & Mary Plant; Ginny Plant; Ashley Lineberry; Sara Kay & Darren Hanks; great-grandchildren Garrett Bailey; Gavin Bailey & Molly Plant ; several nieces & nephews.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, July 25, 2009 at 11:00 am in Mt. Vale United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Lindamood and Rev. Norman Goad officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Rites by Hillsville VFW Post 1115. The family will receive friends Saturday morning from ten until eleven at Mt. Vale United Methodist Church.
