Joseph Henry Isom age 71 of Fries, Virginia passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at his home.

Joe was born on October 31, 1941 in Galax, Virginia to Charles Henry and Sadie Christley Isom. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Norma Isom and a brother James Isom.

Joe proudly served his country in the US Army.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Renee and Jason Duncan of Fries, Virginia; sons and daughter-in-law Charles and Janet Isom of Galax, Virginia; Tony Isom of Fries, Virginia; grandchildren Jill Isom, Keith Isom, J.J. Duncan, Dylan Isom and Dillon Taylor; sisters and brothers-in-law Faye and Steve Semones of Galax, Virginia; Judy and Ronnie Sharp; Pam and Gary Hancock all of Woodlawn, Virginia; brothers and sisters -in-law Butch and Cathy Isom of Galax, Virginia; Nick and Joan Isom of Galax, Virginia; several nieces an nephews; special friend Jess Lambert.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastors Roger and Trish Johnson and Pastor Titus Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery with Military Rites by the Grayson VFW Post 7726. The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
