Joseph Frank Hawks age 48 of Independence, Virginia passed away Tuesday September 6, 2022 at his home.

Joseph was born in Galax, Virginia on May 17, 1974 to Denny Frank and Diann Plummer Hawks. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Harmon Dale Hawks; Virginia Plummer; Aubrey and Kinnie Shupe; Jack Plummer and a very special cousin Larry Redden.

He is survived by his wife Natasha Hawks of Independence, Virginia; daughters and son-in-law  Chelsey Hawks of Galax, Virginia; Destiny and Josh Testerman of Independence, Virginia; three grandchildren Austin Upchurch; Dixie McMickle and Alexis Testerman; mother Diann Hawks; father and step-mother Frank and Virginia Hawks; brother Tommy  Hawks; sister and brother-in-law Felicia and Shawn Rector all of Galax, Virginia; grandmother Leona Hawks; nephews  Padan Hawks and Logan Hawks; mother-in-law Lois Akers; brother-n-law Isaac Melton; very special companion Jax.

The funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM in the Coal Creek Community Church with Pastor Randy Bledsoe, Greg Carico, Richie Harris and Pedro Sanchez officiating . Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Coal Creek Community Church.
