Joseph Wayne Bond age 85 of Fries, Virginia passed away Sunday, August 2, 2026 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.
Mr. Bond was born in Carroll County, Virginia on November 28, 1940 to William and Ida Bertie Hill Bond. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Alvin Bond.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law Kathy and Jack Dowell; Rhonda and Kenny Simone all of Fries, Virginia; two sons and daughters-in-law Terry and Patricia Bond of Fries, Virginia; Steve and Christina Bond of Hillsville, Virginia; daughter-in-law Pat Bond; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Thursday at 1:00 PM in the Trinity Baptist Church with Pastor Matthew Adams and Pastor Junior Bullion officiating. Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Trinity Baptist Church.
