Chief Master Sgt. Johnny Hobert Warren, Retired age 85 of Galax, Virginia passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019 in the Alleghany Memorial Hospital.

Sgt. Warren was born in Grayson County, Virginia on July 2, 1933 to George Vestal and Virginia Warren.

He proudly served his country in the US Air Force. He loved music and flatfoot dancing.

Surviving are his wife Faye Ridings Warren of Galax, Virginia; children and spouses Janetta Warren Hall of Independence, Virginia; Johnny Wayne and Christine Warren of Woodbridge, Virginia; Dennis Joel and Jerri Warren of Mouth of Wilson, Virginia; Debbie and Daniel Plummer of Charlotte North Carolina; John Phillips of Galax, Virginia; Paul and Darlene Phillips of Bristol, Virginia; sister and brother-in-law Judy and Jay Powers of Chilhowie, Virginia; brothers and sisters-in-law Sam and Pam Russell; Danny and Sharon Russell all of Marion, Virginia; half-sister Patricia Vestal of Delaware; half-brothers George Vestal of Florida; Danny Vestal of Winchester, Virginia; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; many friends.

The funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with the Rev. Sam Holder officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the Grayson VFW Post 7726. Burial will be held Tuesday at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
