Johnny Edward Sawyers age 76 of Galax, Virginia passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2024  at his home.

Johnny was born on August 26, 1948 in Patrick County, Virginia to William Walker and Susan Smith Sawyers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters Rozella Sawyers and Gladys Sawyers; five brothers James, Leroy, Robert, Jimmy and Sherman Sawyers.

He is survived by his wife Treva Kirby Sawyers; daughters Sandra Sawyers and Cynthia Sawyers; sons Johnny Sawyers, Jr. and Travis Crouse all of Galax, Virginia; step-daughter and husband Michelle and Mike Lineberry of Fries, Virginia; sisters and brother-in-law Geneva Reyes of Galax, Virginia; Lealur Reddick of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; Louise and Ron Jones of Pinnacle, North Carolina; brother and sister-in-law Walter Lee and Doris Sawyers of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; ; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Monday at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Minister Sue Green officiating. Burial will follow in the Oldtown Cemetery.   The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
