Johnny Clifton Brannock age 89 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, June 23, 2016 in the North Carolina Baptist Hospital.

Mr. Brannock was born on April 5, 1927 in Surry County, North Carolina to Alexander and Ethel Lowe Brannock. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Hallie Lowe Brannock; three sisters and two brothers.

Mr. Brannock proudly served his country in the US Army.

He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law Gary Brannock; Larry and Judy Brannock all of Galax, Virginia; grandchildren and spouse Doug and Cheryl Brannock; Tiffany Brannock and Candis Brannock; great-grandsons William and Alex Brannock; sister Ruby Dell Brannock of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; sisters-in-law and spouse Marie Norman; Jess and Roy South all of Galax, Virginia; brother-in-law and spouse Donald and Rhonda Lowe of Galax, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, June 26, 2016 at 4:00 PM in the Snow Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Ernie Smith and the Rev. Garry Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the Snow Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 until time for the funeral service at the Snow Hill Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers and food the family request donations be made to the Snow Hill Cemetery Fund.
