Johnie James Williams, 86, of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, July 16, 2015 at his home.
Mr. Williams was born in Galax, Virginia December 25, 1928 to the late Jasper Williams and Mae Estelle Mittman Williams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife
Elsie Newman Williams, children, Michael Williams, Kathy Robertson, and Sharon Jamison, and sister Gladys Williams.

Mr. Williams is survived by step son and wife: Richard Tyree and Anna of Prince George, Virginia; son & wife, Gregory Williams & Barbara of Galax, Virginia; daughter and husband Myra Allen and Tim of Roanoke, Virginia; brother-in-law Weldon Phipps of Galax, Virginia; sister-in-law Roberta Jefferson, sixteen (16) grandchildren, Reginald Williams, John Jemison, Damien Jemison, Catina Robinson-Hale, Rhonda Hash, Berl Robertson, Jr., Kenneth Robertson, Angela Robertson, Brittany Robertson, Richette Benjamin, Richard Tyree, Jr., Katrina Williams, Tara Mayo, Greg Williams, Jr., Morgan Allen & Timothy Allen, Jr. twenty-eight great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews, also, survive.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at 1:00 PM in the Mt. Zion Holiness Church, 139 Calloway Street, Galax, Virginia with Harry Cohen officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethany Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at the church from 12 Noon until service time.

Military rites will be held at the graveside by Grayson VFW Post 7726.
