Dr. John Winton Hackler D.D. age 93 of Galax, Va. passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2007 in Twin County Regional Hospital. He was born in Grayson County, Va. on February 28, 1914 to the late Mina N. & Ruth Elizabeth Catron Hackler. He is survived by his wife Margaret Kinzer Hackler of Galax, Va.; son & daughter-in-law Earl Dean & Betty Hackler of Independence, Va.; sisters & brothers-in-law Ruby & Griggs Roberts of Woodlawn, Va.; Swandell & Elwood Roberts of Independence, Va.; sisters-in-law & spouse Mae & Troy Cline; Grace Kinzer; Juanita Hackler and Meritha Harrington all of Independence, Va.; Frances Kinzer of King, N.C.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 2:00 PM in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Mike Haynes & Rev. Sam Kinzer officiating. Burial will follow in Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from six until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
