John Wayne Sizemore age 70 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017 in the Grayson Nursing and Rehab Center.

John Wayne was born in Carroll County, Virginia on August 2,1947 to Hiram and Alma Jennings Sizemore. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Jearleen Whitaker Sizemore and two brothers Roger Sizemore and Lester Sizemore.

He proudly served his country in the US Army.

He is survived by his daughter Johnetta Kjleen Mays of Galax, Virginia; sons Dennis Wayne Sizemore of Woodlawn, Virginia; Jeffery Shane Sizemore of Galax, Virginia; sisters and brothers-in-law Jascha and Bob Brown of Florida; Ruth and John Quesenberry of Hillsville, Virginia; brothers and sisters-in-law Ray and Nina Sizemore of Woodlawn, Virginia; Denny and Joyce Sizemore of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Friday, December 29, 2017 at 3:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Myron Dalton officiating. Burial will follow in the Robinson Cemetery with Military Rites by the Hillsville VFW Post 1115. The family will receive friends Friday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
