John "Blake" Shores, Sr. went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 16, 2016.
Blake was born on May 11, 1956. He was preceded in death by his parents Benjamin Grady and Rhoda Fern Galyean Shores.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Wood Shores; sons and daughters-in-law John Blake and Kenzie Shores; Joel and Kelly Shores; daughter Jahn Shores; four grandchildren Harper, Ben, Everett and Brock; brothers Michael Shores and Joel Shores; sister Amanda Burnette; several nieces and nephews; mother of his children Carol Shores.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with the Rev. David Long officiating. Burial will follow in the Shores Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from six until eight at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
