John C. Phibbs' Obituary
John C. Phibbs age 83 of Fries, Virginia passed away Monday, November 2, 2009 in Golden Living Center.
Mr. Phibbs was born on August 25, 1926 in Grayson County, Va. to Charles Oscar & Columbia Ollie Horton Phibbs.
He is survived by his wife Faye Phibbs of Fries, Va.; daughter & son-in-law Sandra & William F. (Bill) Slough of Taylors, S.C.; grandson Alex Slough of Greenville, S.C.; granddaughter & husband Sonya & Christian Desilets of Fairmont, West Virginia; great-grandchildren Genevieve Desilets and Robin Desilets; brother & sister-in-law Clifton & Louise Phibbs of Fries, Va; sisters-in-law Grace Phibbs of Galax, Va.; Anna Phibbs of Chesapeake, Va.; Cathy Nicol of Mt. Airy, N.C.; brother-in-law Wayne Bond of Fries, Va.; sisters-in-law & husband Lorene & Ilow Rotenberry of Homestead, Florida; Elizabeth Shoaf of Lexington, N.C.; Mary Bond of Woodlawn, Va.; a host of dear nieces & nephews.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, November 5, 2009 at 2:00 pm in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Rick Watson officiating. Burial will follow in Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from six until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
