John Wheeler Parsons' Obituary
John Wheeler Parsons age 85 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday January 3, 2017 in the Grayson Nursing and Rehab Center.
Mr. Parsons was born in Galax, Virginia on August 26, 1931 to Joe W. and Virginia Phipps Parsons.
He is survived by his wife Jerry Parsons of the home; daughters and sons-in-law Susan and Mark Fackrell of Galax, Virginia; Mandy and David Durnovich of Independence, Virginia; seven grandchildren Matthew Fackrell and Ashley Fackrell; Anna Ventresca; Sara Ernst; John Michael Durnovich; Mary Amand Mundy; Davis Bayles and seven great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, January 8, 2017 at 1:30 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with John Michael Durnovich officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. The family asked in lieu of flowers donations be made to either the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75231 or to the Twin County Humane Society, P.O. Box 125, Hillsville, Virginia 24343.
