John (Buddy) Kelly Davis age 82 of Galax, Virginia passed away Sunday, August 21, 2016 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.

Mr. Davis was born on July 6, 1934 to J.K. and America Merle Carpenter Davis. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Pedie Crigger Davis and a brother Joe Davis.

He proudly served his country in the US Navy.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Diane and Bill Beamer of Galax, Virginia; sisters Judy Hackler and Betty Davis both of Galax, Virginia; sister-in-law Patty Davis of Galax, Virginia; special nieces Janna Billings and Kim Stamper; special nephew Joey Davis; several other nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 4:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor James Billings and John Fielder officiating. Burial will follow in the Gladeville Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. The family will be at the home of Judy Hackler, 1122 Glendale Road, Galax, Virginia 24333.
