John Hampton Hackler's Obituary
John Hampton Hackler age 85 of Fries, Va. passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at his home.
Mr. Hackler was born on January 4, 1924 in Grayson County, Va. to Kennley & Clara Williams Hackler.
He is survived by his wife Mildred Hackler of Fries, Va.; daughters & sons-in-law Nickie L. Hackler of Meeteetse, Wyoming; Linda & Ralph Jones of Fries, Va.; Patricia & Nickey Handy of Galax, Va.; sisters-in-law Marie Williams of Greensboro, N.C.; Frances Mobley of Honea Path, S.C.; brothers-in-law & spouse Dan & Bobbie Hawks of Draper, Va.; Ernest Hawks of Galax, Va.; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews.
The funeral service will be held Friday, August 28, 2009 at 3:00 pm at Stevens Creek United Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Blevins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Rites by Hillsville VFW Post 1115. The family will receive friends Friday afternoon from two until three at Stevens Creek United Methodist Church.
