John "Jack" Devine Jr., age 93, of Galax, Virginia passed away Saturday November 23, 2019 in Waddell Nursing Home.

Mr. Devine was born on September 21, 1926 in Jenette, Pennsylvania to the late John and Cora Irene Beavers Devine. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Doris Jane Smith and James Robert Devine.

He was a proud World War II Navy Veteran and a well-known tile contractor.

Mr. Devine is survived by his wife of 72 years Wanda Lee Devine of Galax; daughters Sandra Cox and Barbara "Bobbie" Fridley (Jerry) all of Galax; son John "Jacky" Frances Devine III (Alice) of Independence; and grandchildren Billy Kirby, Michelle Sexton, Amanda Ayers, Michael Fridley, Amy Moretz, John Patrick Devine, William Brandon Devine. Also surviving are sixteen great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Hillcrest Baptist Church..
