John Gilbert Anderson age 68 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday March 21, 2023 in the Waddell Nursing and Rehab Center.

John was born on February 17, 1955 in Grayson County, Virginia to Gwyn and Ruby Trimble Anderson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Kathy Anderson; sister Millie Getzinger and two brothers W.G. Anderson and Roger Anderson.

He proudly served his country in the US Marines.

He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law Joel Anderson of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; Jordan and Crystal Anderson; Jacob Anderson all of Galax, Virginia; four grandchildren Cole Pickett; Aiden Anderson; Liam Anderson and Harlow Anderson; sister Sonya Farmer of Galax, Virginia; brother Virgil Anderson of San Antonio, Texas; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from six until eight at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
